An Overview of Margaret Fields Kean’s Teachings

The Natural Process Map: the Sequence of Margaret Kean’s Near-Death Experience.

The Natural Process Map: the Sequence of Margaret Kean’s Near-Death Experience.

My aspiration is to share Margaret’s teachings on this website through text, audios, and videos that explain the Natural Process Map of the sequence of dying, and how to use the Map. Go here to learn more details about the Map.

Margaret originally gave the teachings in person. To the best of my knowledge there have been no books written on Margaret’s teachings. Margaret offered her knowledge of ‘The Natural Process’, and ‘The Dance of the Divine Order’ as a gift to her students, encouraging us to take her teachings and share this knowledge with others.

In 1978, Margaret Kean from Virginia, USA, had a profound near-death experience (NDE). That experience provided her with extraordinary insight into the nature and natural sequence of our human living and dying experiences. Margaret preferred to call her near-death experience a ‘whole-life’ experience. It is interesting to reflect on her choice of words. The words ‘whole-life experience’ do seem to more accurately reflect the wholistic nature of the human experience of living and dying. It also reflects the idea that our individual Spirit never truly dies, that it lives forever in a continuum of birthing, living, and re-birthing eternally through dimensions of the Light. There is really no death, just a change of form.

During her near-death experience, Margaret learned that her purpose in life, once her spirit returned to her body and continued living in it, was to be a healer. She was going to help people overcome stress and anxiety, and other issues of mind, body, and spiritual health.

A hallmark of Margaret’s healing modalities is that they offer profound, yet practical, ways to expand our consciousness, our awareness, our perceptions, and to transcend pre-conceived perceptual and emotional hurdles. Margaret’s methods achieved results in a multiplicity of ways: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, electrically, nutritionally, sexually, and so on. She talked about the importance of brain efficiency, and of the need for our emotions to support our spiritual purpose. Her teachings and methods are transformational.

Over a period of several years, Margaret taught three different health and wellness modalities:

1) The Results System
2) The Natural Process
3) The Dance of Divine Order

In this section of the website, I offer details about Margaret’s teachings on the second and third modalities: ‘The Natural Process’, (a stress-management tool), and ‘The Dance of Divine Order’ (sacred relationships in the Oneness).

In the 1990’s, I participated in classes with Margaret Fields Kean at the ‘Visions of Tomorrow - School for the Prophets’ conferences held at the State University of New York, in Geneseo, NY. I have continued to study and use ‘The Natural Process’ and the ‘Dance of Divine Order’. They are my go-to teachings for stressful times or moments. They are useful modalities that anyone can use to great benefit.

the results system

The first modality that Margaret taught is the most detailed and comprehensive of the three. ‘The Results System’ works using muscle testing, a pendulum, or a reading of one’s pulse to determine which of the multi-dimensional aspects of an individual’s mind, body, emotions, and spirit, including for example, our electrical and nutritional selves, needs to be first addressed in order to resolve an issue. A client could present with having an issue of chronic headaches, for example. Perhaps the headaches aren’t responding to any previous treatment. ‘The Results System’, it could be determined that the problem is the electrical system of the body, or it could be caused by a childhood emotional trauma, or the client simply needs to increase their daily water intake.

Although I did not take the training for ‘The Results System’ at the time that it was offered, I am familiar with it because of my interest in it as well as having received treatments from Results System trained practitioners. There are practitioners of ‘The Results System’ that are still, today, achieving extraordinary results with their clients.

The Natural Process

‘The Natural Process’ is outlined in the Map shown on this site. The Map shows the sequence of experiences of the dying process that Margaret remembered, starting with the ‘Tunnel’ and a ‘Life Review’. It is not uncommon for people who have had a near-death experience to experience themselves moving into greater and greater realms of Light and Love, often passing through a tunnel first, where they experience a review of their life. The experience of a ‘Life Review’ can be transformational. It is an opportunity to see, review and re-experience events, emotions, thoughts, and dreams like a movie of one’s life. It is a chance to get a different perspective on choices made, and experiences lived. One gets to view everything from a different perspective, and there is a lot to be learned from that.

One of the unique things about Margaret Kean’s near-death experience (NDE) is that upon her recovery, she remembered a specific sequence of dying. She was able to clearly describe and articulate the nature of the sequence of steps that resulted in her unification with the ‘Oneness’ and returning to Earth with a clear awareness of her purpose and the specific ‘assignments’ or goals that she was to accomplish.

Individual transformation can occur in so many different ways, and having a near-death experience is just one of many spiritually transformative occurrences that humans have. Trauma, spontaneous awakenings, epiphanies, dreams, initiations, and deep meditation are some examples of spiritually transformative events. There are many ways to have an experience of feeling completely connected and at-one-with everything. Some call it Unity Consciousness. Some call it Nirvana. Margaret experienced it as the Oneness.

I have found Margaret’s teachings based on the knowledge she gained during her near-death experience (whole-life experience) to be profoundly helpful in my own life as well as in the lives of the students that I taught, and others with whom I have shared the information. ‘The Natural Process’ continues to be a foundational piece in my personal life and in my on-going healing, spiritual evolution, and transformational processes.

Margaret taught that we are often in ‘The Tunnel’ in our day-to-day experiences, not just when we die or have a near-death experience. During times of great change and transformation, it is a natural thing to reflect on the past, on how things were, on one’s experiences, one’s relationships, and one’s choices. Those reflections can be a pre-curser to a change in one’s perception of reality.

Reflecting on the past, and on one’s memories of the past, is part of a grieving process. It is a natural part of experiencing loss, and can be the beginning stage of ‘letting go’ of the past. Reflecting on the past through a ‘Life Review’ is a natural part of the process of dying, and a natural part of other types of transformational experiences.

I believe that collectively, as a human species, we are undergoing a near-death-like experience. Death, loss, and grief are dominant themes everywhere. There are many personal losses occurring, whether it is the loss of a lifestyle or the loss of a loved one.  And at the same time, there is so much opportunity for each of us to co-create our individual and collective future, day-by-day. Margaret’s teachings provide a beautiful way to discover and access the Light of hope at the end of the Tunnel, and the Map that points the way to moving forward into a new paradigm that supports one’s spiritual purpose. ‘The Natural Process’ is a teaching as well as a tool for helping us, and each other, to navigate through the wonders as well as the challenges of having a human experience on Earth. ‘The Natural Process’ can help us with both our dying and living experiences, and support us through troubled waters and the daily natural stresses of living.

The Light is always calling us forward into greater expressions of its infinite Love, and to greater understandings and illuminations. The teachings of ‘the Natural Process’ give us practical tools to help us get past our ‘stuck’ places and into states of greater harmony, balance, and wholeness.
‘The Natural Process’ Map is a map of consciousness on the road to ‘Oneness’.

Margaret told her students that the steps of ‘The Natural Process’, the dying process of moving into the Light, happened in a particular order, a particular sequence of experiences. She encouraged us to remember that the sequence of experiences was important. I walk you through the sequence here in audio format.

Margaret taught that ‘The Natural Process’ is a template and a metaphor for our living experience here on Earth, as well as our dying experience of leaving the physical body and moving into the Light of Oneness. Both our living and dying experiences on Earth are expressions of the same process of moving more and more into the Light – the Light of love, the Light of understanding, the Light of truth, the Light of courage, the Light of Oneness.

The progressive movement into the Light that many people describe as their experience of dying is the same sequence of experiences that characterizes aspects of our day-to-day living. In other words, there is a parallel between the events and experiences of dying a physical death and the living experience of shedding and letting go of limiting mental, emotional, and physical perceptions and perspectives that no longer serve the path of Spirit. Both our living and dying experiences are a journey into the ‘Oneness’.

For example, many near-death experiencers remember having an experience of moving through a ‘Tunnel’, and of having a ‘Life Review’. On a day-to-day basis, human beings often can feel physically, mentally, or emotionally ‘stuck’. This is what Margaret meant when she said that we sometimes get stuck in the ‘Tunnel’ of our 'busywork', in the busy-ness of our day–to-day lives. We sometimes lose sight of a bigger purpose or a greater calling in our lives. We may not be able to see any ‘Light’ (at the end of ‘The Tunnel’); we can experience ‘tunnel vision’, and lose sight of a bigger picture. Feeling ‘stuck’ in one’s life or situation can create overwhelming stress, depression, or a sense of disconnection from everything, particularly a disconnection from feeling a greater purpose in life, a reason for living.

Sometimes we get glimpses of the Light at the end of ‘The Tunnel’. And that Light, no matter how small it appears at first, serves to pull us forward, like a magnet, offering a sense of hope and possibilities. So the experience of being stuck in a tunnel is a metaphor that is relevant for a dying experience, as well as a day-to-day living experience.

I believe that many people are experiencing being in the ‘Tunnel’ stage at this time. And collectively, it is as if we are moving out of the ‘Tunnel’ of the past, and into an all-new future. Living in the ‘Tunnel’ is a stage that is a natural state. The ‘Tunnel’ is a state of being and a perception. It is part of life and part of the journey of consciousness towards ‘Oneness’. Being in the ‘Tunnel’ is also a state that occurs during death. It is a transition point to the Light. Interestingly, Margaret said that she did not remember experiencing the ‘Tunnel’ when she had her NDE. She joked that that was likely because she had experienced being in the ‘Tunnel’ so much in her day-to-day life before her NDE.

I find that simply reading and exploring the Map is a very helpful thing to do. If you follow the primary headings starting clockwise with the ‘Tunnel’ at the far bottom left of the Map, then you can follow the journey of moving out of ‘The Tunnel’ into ‘The Heart’ space. Next, you go over the ‘Bridge of Trust’, into the Light. The Light keeps expanding and, from within the Light, there is an experience of recognizing the perfection of ‘All That Is’. That recognition of the perfection of everything, every single thing, includes a deep recognition of the perfection of oneself. In the Light, one recognizes the perfection of ‘I’, the ‘I AM’ presence, the ‘I Am that which IS’. In recognizing the perfection of the ‘I AM’ presence, one also simultaneously recognizes the perfection of ‘you’ - each of us, and all of us, perfect spiritually just as we are. Margaret refers to that understanding as the ‘Recognition of the Perfection of We’. The ‘Recognition of the Perfection of We’ then ‘opens the palace gates’ to ‘Oneness’, and enables entering into the vast field of ‘Oneness’. One can only go through the palace gates as ‘We’, in recognizing the perfection of all - everything and everyone, just as it is and they are.

Reflecting on those steps along the journey of our day-to-day lives can help to keep us moving forward into the new dawn of a new day - and it can help us to see all of the creative possibilities that are in the ‘Oneness’ waiting for our participation in the ‘Dance of Divine Order’. There are more steps along the way after the ‘Oneness’, including ‘Carrying Out One’s Assignment’ here on Earth, and being in the place of ‘Miracles’ where everything is in perfect synchronicity, abundance, manifestation, and harmony. Experiencing the place of ‘Miracles’ is living consciously in the ‘Oneness’.

the dance of divine order

The third of Margaret’s healing modalities is: ‘The Dance of Divine Order’. It is a series of eighteen statements that describe a new way of experiencing relationships that elevates all of our relationships, including family, intimate, workplace, friends, and acquaintances, to a higher perspective and understanding. Margaret’s teachings offer a different perspective on the role of physical attractions between humans. For Margaret, in ‘The Dance of Divine Order’, the focus is on determining the spiritual purpose of our attraction to one another. What is it that is at the root of a sexual attraction? What makes a relationship a ‘sacred’ relationship. Margaret encourages us to explore the nature of the attraction to determine what the spiritual purpose is. Sometimes it is simply to exchange information, or work on an assignment together. Sometimes the purpose is to engage in a sacred sexual relationship. Sometimes it is to be parents together. Determining the purpose is the first step. Margaret also believed that humans are evolving to an androgynous state, where individuals are not distinguishably masculine or feminine. She believed that Love is the leader of the dance, and that love recognizes love just as spirit recognizes spirit. For more details on Margaret’s ‘Dance of Divine Order, please go here.

I hope that the teachings of ‘The Dance of Divine Order’ will be particularly helpful for anyone who is working through a change in personal identity, sexual identity, or who is in a non-traditional relationship.

And I truly hope that ‘The Natural Process’ and the ‘Dance of Divine Order’ will bring inspiration to you, and help you as you journey on the path towards Oneness. I’ll meet you at the ‘Gate to Oneness’, and we can journey together through the gate into the Oneness. Recognizing the perfection of the Oneness, may we hold the perfection of that Oneness in our beingness. May our expression of Oneness be effortless, and filled with joy, peace, love, beauty, and grace.

Margaret passed into the ‘Oneness’ in 2008, leaving behind a beautiful and practical teaching legacy. I know that she would be very happy to see that her work is, after all this time, on-line now here for all to see and experience. I am motivated to share Margaret’s teachings at this time because I feel that the healing outcomes are even more relevant and applicable in these times.

May Margaret’s teachings on journeying to the ‘Oneness’ support you in living a healthy, happy, fulfilled and purposeful life. See you in the ‘Oneness’!
